Dr. John K. Kamau is a highly skilled and team-oriented Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a wealth of experience spanning outpatient clinics, nursing facilities, and correctional environments. At Harford-Belair Community Mental Health Center, he delivers outpatient psychiatric services, addressing urgent behavioral health needs and providing consistent follow-up care.

John’s prior experience includes working with nursing facilities at Brighter Days Mental Health and Recovery Center, where he focused on therapy and medication management, and as a Registered Nurse at Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center, where he managed detox protocols, monitored withdrawal symptoms, and coordinated care for incarcerated individuals.

His educational achievements include a Master of Science in Nursing (PMHNP) from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University, both earned with honors. John’s certifications include Maryland licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse, as well as DEA and CDS certifications.
